Hey folks. Happy Friday.
Just wanted to check in with you all.
This week, I had the opportunity to have dinner with a good friend from out of state. He lives in Nashville, and was here for a short 24 hours, on business.
We first crossed paths around 2005, but I didn’t get to know him until he hired me to be a member of the team he assembled at a facility in middle Tennessee.
I worked there for about five years. It was the best employment experience I’ve ever had. It felt like family at a time when I really needed it.
I confided in him as my first marriage began to unravel completely, and he was a critical part of my support system before, during, and after my divorce. We’ve travelled together. We’ve shared a lot of meals and played some golf. And, we’ve had some laughs over the years. My life changed for the better the day I met Frank Miller.
Best of all, he saw things in me that I wasn’t capable of seeing in myself. He has believed in me and advocated for me. He has witnessed me – watched me suffer and watched me grow. He has spoken to me some hard truths when he knew I was ready to hear them.
So, take a few minutes this weekend and call that friend who builds you up the way you deserve to be. Thank them. Let them know how much they matter to you.
